STAR PERFORMERS WANTED

Want to join the Les Mills team? Want to be a star performer packing classes with your passion, skill and with the support of the worlds leading Group Fitness team?

If the answer is Yes! then you’re about to start out on an incredible journey that will enrich your life and create life changing experiences for others.

You’ll start by attending a 2 or 3 day training module (depending on the program) to receive training in the key elements of the Les Mills teaching system and using program resources including music CDs, choreography scripts and master class DVDs. Approved trainees then start prepping to teach their first Les Mills class and later submit a video for assessment by Les Mills’ assessment team.

Once qualified, instructors receive ongoing training and education through quarterly program resources and at regular quarterly workshops, where they get to work closely with national and international master trainers.
Outstanding instructors can also step up to the role of trainers and extend their career horizons within the Les Mills community.

Advanced Instructor Module (AIM)

Present programs in their purest form. Shift closer to perfection in every movement. Coach to lead, teach and inspire.

AIM 1 is a one day course (6 CECs) for Certified Instructors ready to step up to the next level of teaching. To maximize the experience, AIM 1 has been capped at 14 participants. Click here to find out when the next AIM1 Module is coming to you. 6 CECs are available on successful completion of the Module.

"After several years of teaching RPM™ the AIM1 module came at just the right time. It gave me more knowledge – more knowledge which I can pass on to my participants to help improve the quality and effectiveness of their ride. It also gave me the opportunity to sit back and think about how well I deliver this program to my participants on several levels. There was close inspection of my riding technique – improvements made to allow me to better approach how a great RPM™ instructor rides in their class. Coaching was also an important part of the Module. I was given to opportunity to take a step back and really think about what I should be saying to my participants - what information do they really want to hear; how to layer the basic cues with follow-up information which would be more relevant; how to make my classes more interesting and leave my participants feeling truly inspired about my class and RPM™".
- Tom Behrsing - AIM 1 RPM™ Melbourne

Assessment

After completing initial training Les Mills’ instructors undergo a further assessment period to achieve their qualification.

The Period between Initial Training and Qualification:
Providing you received a “Pass or Pass-Withheld” at the module, you may teach after completing your initial training and before you get your assessment results. You need to submit a video of you teaching your class within 90 days of completing your initial training module.

Key Components of the Les Mills Assessment System:
Les Mills’ approach to assessment is one that combines an assessor’s observations with a systemised approach to providing feedback that will ensure each instructor receives a detailed action plan for their ongoing development.

In determining a Pass or Resubmit each assessor will be looking at the total amount of critical corrections required in the compulsory elements. These elements are primarily in Choreography, Physical Execution and Coaching, detailed in the instructor manual.

To ensure efficiency and consistency in assessment instructors are required to meet a certain number of competency items according to each program.

For further information on the Les Mills Assessment process contact certification@lesmills.com.au or call a member of our friendly assessment team on +61 2 6282 8192.

Certification

Certification is your official confirmation of training completion and defines your place within Les Mills.

More and more fitness clubs are only hiring Certified Instructors because these instructors have been assessed at a higher level than Instructors that have only completed their initial training.

As a Certified Instructor, you have proven yourself to be proficient & competent with a willingness to elevate your professionalism and expertise. If you have not yet taken steps to complete your certification, pull out the video camera and become a star!
