If you are starting exercise for the first time, getting back into exercise following a break or a mature adult looking for a low-impact Group Fitness option, this is the program for you!

It's a low-impact, 55-minute class, integrating aerobic exercise for heart fitness, resistance training for strength and stability, and stretching and mobility work. Using BODYVIVE TM balls and resistance tubes, you enjoy a varied workout that activates and empowers your body.

Like all Les Mills Group Fit formulas, BODYVIVE TM combines the power or choreographed moves, inspiring music and motivating instructors. A new class is released every three months with new music and new choreography.

Who's it for?

BODYVIVE TM is ideally suited to baby boomers (those aged between 45 and 60), and people getting into fitness for the first time and deconditioned participants coming back to exercise after a break.

So, describe a typical class.

BODYVIVE TM consists of 12 working tracks, which provide a full-body workout where participants set their own pace. Classes start with a simple warm-up and continue with alternating "heart fitness" and "functional strength" blocks, before a final block of core and restorative exercises.

The basic structure is fixed, but the moves and music will change when a new class is released every three months.

BODYVIVE TM balls and resistance tubes are used in some of the tracks because of the opportunities they offer to exercise the body in different ways, and at optional intensity levels.

What do I need to bring?

Bring water and a towel. Wear comfortable clothing, a T-shirt and track pants are fine. Turn up with a desire to get active and have some fun.

How fit do I need to be to do BODYVIVE TM?

First-timers do not need to be fit - just physically active and able to move freely.

Les Mills recommends that people obtain the advice of a medical professional before starting any fitness regime.

How often should people do BODYVIVE TM?

There is no prescribed frequency. Les Mills suggests three times a week in conjunction with other physical activities.

What type of music is used, and why?

BODYVIVE TM is choreographed predominantly to popular mainstream music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The music is easy to listen to and familiar to BODYVIVE TM participants.

What will it do for me?
