Whether you’re a classic tourist attraction kind of traveler or prefer an off the beaten track kind of experience, we’ve got your itinerary covered for when you’re not working up a sweat at REEBOK LES MILLS LIVE 2019:
1. Changi Airport
Before you even step foot in to Singapore itself, take a look around the airport! With highlights such as indoor butterfly gardens and cactus plots, Changi Airport is so jammed with activities even non-travellers make the trip out to kill a few hours.
2. Newton Food Centre
Some visitors travel to Singapore solely for a taste of the dynamic street food scene, where stripped-back stalls (some of them crowned with Michelin-starred glory) sling chicken to a snaking line of hungry locals. There are more than 100 stalls in this lively centre but a sure bet is the super spicy barbecue sambal stingray from Guan Kee Grilled Seafood.
3. Gardens by the Bay
A stunning nature park spanning 250 acres of reclaimed land in the Central Region of Singapore, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens and is absolutely worth a visit.
4. ‘A Photographic Journey’
For something a little different and artistic, led by locals, you’ll go for a photo walk around Haji Lane. The experience includes discovering various photography techniques as you wander around Kampong Glam. Along with an educational experience, you will be able to create and capture travel memories of Singapore! After the photography experience, you will head back to Mondays Off (on Haji Lane) where the tour ends and you’ll print three photos for you to take home!
5. Raffles Singapore Hotel
This colonial style luxury hotel is famous for the ‘Singapore Sling’ cocktail. Raffles Hotel has a shopping arcade with 40 specialty boutiques. At the enduringly plush Raffles Hotel in Singapore’s heart, one of two Presidential Suites typically sets guests back around 10,000SGD per night. The historic hotel is currently undergoing refurbishments and is due to reopen in early 2019, complete with a swathe of eagerly anticipated eateries, a grand new lobby and revamped lounge for afternoon tea sittings. Definitely worth a look and to try a Singapore sling!
6. Merlion Park
The official mascot of Singapore, this mythical half-lion, half-fish spouts water from its open mouth into Marina Bay. The Merlion statue stands tall at 8.6 metres and weighs 70 tonnes. An iconic ‘must-see’ for tourists visiting Singapore.
7. Sentosa Island
The resort isle of Sentosa, just south of Singapore’s city centre, draws sun-loving crowds to its manmade sandy shores in throngs.
8. 1-Altitude
Whether you’re looking for bubbles across a remarkable sunset on the rooftop (floor 63), fine dining at Stellar (floor 62) or cocktails and dancing at Altimate (floor 61), 1-Altitude throws heaps of different events, with various-sized areas available to hire out. Definitely worth checking out for a glamorous night out on the town!
9. Singapore Cable Car
Enjoy spectacular views of Faber Peak Singapore and Sentosa on the Cable Car Sky Network. Let the Mount Faber and Sentosa cable car lines whisk you away to local attractions in no time. So, sit back, relax and enjoy the sights that the Singapore skyline offers, from the fun at Sentosa to the panoramic views of the city from Mount Faber.
10. Marina Bay Sands Hotel
If you want a luxury experience, you have to book a night to stay here. There are few places more impressive to peer down into the glittering Lion City than atop the elevated ship-like structure of Marina Bay Sands Hotel. In the stifling heat, the infinity pool that sits 56 storeys above street level is the world’s biggest at that height – it measures almost three Olympic swimming pools in length. Be sure to check out the CÉ LA VI bar, with its sprawling views of Singapore glimmering in the background.
11. ArtScience Museum
Singapore’s ArtScience museum is an iconic cultural landmark. The striking, lotus inspired building features 21 gallery spaces spanning nearly 5000m2. It is here at the intersection of art and science that innovation and new ideas are formed. They like to say “it’s where the future is created”.
