We caught up with Kah Seng Kong, who is the Sales and Program Manager at Urbax Fitness in Malaysia, which has been offering BODYCOMBAT since 2019.
Les Mills Asia Pacific (LMAP): LMAP: Tell us about your BODYCOMBAT 100 celebratory event
Urbax Fitness: The event celebrating BODYCOMBAT 100 was mainly for our members but also open to the Ipoh community, for them to explore the workout and to celebrate the 25 years of BODYCOMBAT milestone.
Our aim was to build the fitness community and promote health awareness in Ipoh Perak. We wanted to offer something different in the market and I believe we’re doing good so far.
The event went well with overwhelming responses from the attendees. We were honoured to have Instructors from Kuala Lumpur and Penang join us to celebrate together. We are really proud to have been able to unite northern and central Instructors.
What made the event successful was the support from Urbax Fitness and the way our marketing, operations and Instructor teams all worked together; this was key to our winning strategy.
LMAP: Tell us about BODYCOMBAT in your clubs
Urbax Fitness: We have two to three clubs offering live BODYCOMBAT classes during weekdays and, on average, we see 30 to 90 participants attending the classes in our clubs. Typically, members who are young to middle-aged are most attracted to our BODYCOMBAT classes. Several members have given us feedback around how grateful they are for having gone from being a total newbie to being able to complete the workout and now to keep improving.
The reason people, globally, love BODYCOMBAT is because they find satisfaction and a sense of achievement from the great music and great workouts.
